Sheba has had a busy few months working on a BFI Audience Research Programme which has unfolded in Derby, Cardigan and Bristol. FLY! festival of Black Women's Films has been brought to Derby West Indian Centre, the Small Theatre in Cardigan and Full Circle in Bristol. In addition, we have facilitated an exciting intensive Film Education programme in Aberystwyth, working with secondary students.
We are undertaking a film audience research project investigating serving the Black community in Wales better. And, last but not least, we are awakening creativity in primary students across Sedgemoor in Somerset, with photography, dance, theatre, poetry, song workshops all with an environmental theme. All of which will keep us very busy until end of July 2023 when, no doubt, we will start limbering up for Black History Month.

Black History Month is on our horizon. Thanks to a brilliant award from the BFI, we will be delivering in-person FLY! Festival of Black Women's Film at Derby Quad and Swansea Cinema and Co as well as an online version opening our programme to our followers across the UK and beyond. We are planning a riveting programme with lots of innovative add-on activities.
Sheba Soul Ensemble, as part of FLY! Festival of Black Women’s Film, welcomes Oscar-nominated documentary director Professor Florence Ayisi, for a screening of a mini-retrospective of her work followed by a Q & A
